App Store Β· Google Play

1Open it

Go to aidova.app or get it from the App Store or Google Play. No account and no download needed on the web. Once opened it works offline.

Turn the volume up and check the iPhone silent switch is off.

2Choose who it is for

  • A child learning to communicate: everyday words, playful look
  • A teenager or adult learning to communicate: everyday words, grown-up look
  • An adult who has lost speech or needs care: the Care & health board

Aidova then shows you a first sentence. Change it any time: Settings β†’ Display.

The golden rule: show, don't test

People learn to use a talker by seeing others use it, just as babies learn speech by hearing it. When you talk, tap the key words on their board at the same time ("Let's go… outside"). Use πŸŽ“ Model mode FREE (Settings β†’ Model Mode) so the buttons glow and replay. Don't ask "Show me drink". Do pause and wait 5 to 10 seconds, then respond to any tap as if it was meant.

The first week

  • Start with a few words they need many times a day: drink, toilet, help, more, stop, finished.
  • Keep the device with them all the time: every room, the car, school, bed.
  • Use it in real moments (snack time, bath time), not as a lesson.
  • Expect lots of tapping and playing at first. That is exploring, and it is good.

Build sentences

  • Tap buttons in order, then β–Ά Speak: "I want" + "snack".
  • Turn on the πŸ”€ Words tab (Settings β†’ Display) for small words that never move: I, go, like, not, it, in… 12 FREE 50 PREMIUM
  • Tap ⭐ at the top to keep sentences you say often one tap away, like "Please give me time to answer" 3 FREE UNLIMITED PREMIUM
  • Buttons stay in the same place, so the hand learns where words are. Try not to move them around.

Make it theirs

  • Add 1 button of your own FREE: Settings β†’ Edit Layout β†’ Add.
  • πŸ“‹ Boards PREMIUM: 19 ready-made boards for mealtime, bath, bedtime, doctor, dentist, park, pain and more.
  • Record a familiar voice, add pictures, folders and more buttons PREMIUM.

For adults who have lost speech

  • The Care & health board uses short phrases: "Please sit me up", "My chest hurts".
  • The Talking tab helps the other person: "I understand you", "Please say it again", "Ask me yes or no".
  • Top row: Wait Β· Don't know Β· Yes Β· No Β· Help me.
  • πŸ’— How I feel FREE: a daily picture check-in (feeling, pain, where it hurts). Settings β†’ How I Feel Today.
  • πŸ’Š Medicine reminders 1 FREE with Taken / Snooze. Only appear while Aidova is open on the screen.

Schools and speech therapists

  • Set up a profile in a session; Premium Plus gives unlimited profiles for a class.
  • Use the same board at home and school: save a backup file and restore it on the other device.
  • Model during real activities; Boards suit group sessions.

Keep it safe

  • πŸ’Ύ Back it up FREE: Settings β†’ Backup & Restore β†’ Save backup file. Do it after changes and once a month.
  • πŸ†˜ Help me opens the emergency screen. Add a carer's number in Settings.
  • Lock settings with a carer PIN so changes are not made by accident FREE.
